Ingredients

* 3 medium baking potatoes peeled and coarsely chopped
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 4 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
* 1/4 cup sour cream, at room temperature
* 1 teaspoon finely minced garlic
* 1 tablespoon (or more) whole milk, at room temperature or warmed
* Salt and freshly ground black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

In a medium saucepan, cook the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain the potatoes and return them to the saucepan.

Add the butter, sour cream and garlic. Mash the potatoes with a potato masher or the back of a fork until the ingredients are blended. Add the milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the potatoes are the desired consistency. Taste and add salt and pepper, if needed. The garlic mashed potatoes is ready to serve...enjoy it !

Ingredients

* 3 1/2 pounds russet potatoes
* 2 tablespoons kosher salt
* 16 fluid ounces (2 cups) half-and-half
* 6 cloves garlic, crushed
* 6 ounces grated Parmesan

INSTRUCTIONS

Peel and dice potatoes, making sure all are relatively the same size. Place in a large saucepan, add the salt, and cover with water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and then reduce heat to maintain a rolling boil. Cook until potatoes fall apart when poked with a fork.

Heat the half-and-half and the garlic in a medium saucepan over medium heat until simmering. Remove from heat and set aside.

Remove the potatoes from the heat and drain off the water. Mash and add the garlic-cream mixture and Parmesan; stir to combine. Let stand for 5 minutes so that mixture thickens and the garlic mashed potatoes is ready to serve....enjoy it !
